Abstract:
Designed originally as a
community portal for e-education enthusiasts, the e-Education Community Portal
offers very many features that can be modified for use in EFL/ESL learning,
teaching, and evaluation. Ideas on how to use the following features in EFL/ESL
contexts will be shared: Community spaces: Wiki, blogs, file and image sharing
galleries, articles, forums, quizes, and surveys. Personal spaces: Messages,
Tasks, Bookmarks, Newsreader, Webmail, Notepad, My files, and calendar. This
site can also be used to build a community among EFL/ESL Teachers or any other
group with the same interests. I hope to convince the audience that building
online communities for EFL/ESL learners and teachers will be a breakthrough for
the confined, traditional EFL/ESL classrooms.
